Structuring of the KORBCIE Impact Fund (Central America)

Within the framework of a collaboration with the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), CABEI provided a comprehensive diagnostic, design and technical assistance service aimed at mobilizing resources from institutional investors from the Republic of Korea to the Central American region.

The assistance focused on supporting CABEI in structuring and raising funds for the launch of a Private Equity Fund for a total of US$1 billion. The purpose of this financial instrument is to catalyze investments in priority sectors for sustainable development in the region, such as renewable energy, infrastructure and social investment.

The mechanism designed not only makes it possible to leverage resources from South Korea, but also articulates with CABEI’s own financing, enhancing the scope and impact of the fund. This initiative seeks to strengthen bi-regional cooperation, promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, and attract foreign direct investment to strategic projects in Central America.
