National Financing Vehicle of Dominica

Project promoted by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) in conjunction with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Planning, Resilience, Sustainable Development, Telecommunications and Broadcasting of Dominica for the delivery of a framework for the establishment, start-up and capitalization of a National Financing Vehicle (NFV). The mission of the NFV is to increase private sector investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency (ER and EE) technology. The NFV is expected to address financial barriers hindering the development of RE/EE, blue economy and low carbon projects.

The project involved the creation of a legal and operational structure for fundraising from commercial impact investors, concessional financing of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) through the development of a concept note, and the alignment of the investment thesis with the GCF’s investment criteria.
