SKCCU Accreditation Gaps (Saint Kitts and Nevis)

Project funded by a Green Climate Fund (GCF) readiness grant to the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis through the Caribbean Community Climate Change Center (5Cs) in order to close accreditation gaps in previously identified by another consultancy.
SKCCU is the largest private credit provider in Saint Kitts and Nevis and a key player in its financial system, with more than 22,000 members. It is also an entity with excellent financial management and widely admired in its country.
The main objective of the project is to align the operational modalities of the cooperative with the accreditation requirements of the Green Climate Fund; involving supporting SKCCU to submit a complete accreditation application based on the institutional modifications that were recommended to meet the Fund’s requirements. Among the institutional recommendations determined, are modification of internal audit policies and manuals, comprehensive risk management, internal control, whistleblower protection policies and processes, and gender strategies and action plan.
